Typical examples of where replication assessment is utilized:
- Identification of pitting and defects on turbine blades.
Information such as depth, shape, size and location of surface
features.
- Heat exchange crack identification. Excellent identification of
defects in critical surfaces at locations where access is difficult.
- Failure investigations
- Surface damage assessment – replicas taken to laboratory for
testing.
- Internal and External pipe work. Information on defects
obtainable.
Once a defect has been identified and replicated our material
sampling machine may be introduced to sample or even remove the
defect. This technique has many advantages. Please refer to
material sampling for further
info.
